Please RSVP to Brian Rosenblum, brianlee@ku.edu by Monday, October 12th.
What are the opportunities and challenges for scholarly journals in the age of digital publishing and open access? KU Libraries invites you to join us at a discussion forum for campus journal editors and
publishers. This is an opportunity to meet and talk with other editors on campus, share ideas, and learn about digital publishing services offered by KU Libraries. (See Digital Publishing Services homepage and Journals@KU for additional information.)
Discussion will be informal and will be guided by the interests of the participants around these three themes as starting points:
1. What support is available for KU editors who wish to publish their journal online as an open access journal?
- brief demonstration and discussion of online journals currently hosted by KU Libraries
- how to move a journal from print to online
- tools to support online journal publishing (article submission,peer-review, etc.)
2. What future services and support should we consider to encourage and facilitate migration of traditional journals to online, open access models? What are your concerns about online publishing and
ways around those concerns?
3. What does "open access" for journals mean, and why is it important? Does this relate to the new open access policy for KU
scholarship?
